The FREE 55th Reunion – May 31 - June 3 2018

December 2017

Dear Classmates and Friends,

Welcome to the FREE 55th Reunion which will take place on May 31 through June 3 2018 in Branford College.  Remember:

  • The Reunion is FREE!
  • Lodging in Branford College is FREE!
  • Food and Drinks are FREE!
  • The entire Reunion is FREE for: Classmates, Spouses, Partners, Widows, Children and Grandchildren!

The FREE 55th Reunion will be a wonderful experience. On Thursday May 31 we will begin with a retrospective of our time at Yale featuring a preview of the documentary To Be a Man – a film about Yale in the 1960s. Our class historian who chronicled his journey from disgrace to redemption in his book “How Starbucks Saved My Life” will talk about the enduring value of “friendships formed at Yale” and how he was embraced by classmates despite his circumstances and humble occupation.  Jere Johnston will share his survey revealing the inner life of our classmates. Yale will offer tours of the New Colleges and lectures by distinguished faculty. Classmates will gather to discuss issues of mutual interest. We will hold a Memorial Service to honor departed classmates. We will have a coffee bar with wine and beer open all day Friday and Saturday to provide a convenient venue for classmates who want to catch up with old friends or to renew friendships with classmates unseen for 55 years. There are reports of roommates Airbnbing houses for the weekend and affinity groups planning celebratory meals. Songsters will be in full voice. Speechifying will mercifully be curtailed.

You will receive an email about registering for the Free 55th Reunion. You will also receive emails about the Pre-Reunion in New York City, the golf outing at Yale and the walking tour of New Haven and environs.

We look forward to seeing each of you at the FREE 55th Reunion on May 31 – June 3 2018.
