Alison Cole ’99 named executive director of Yale Alumni Association

Alison Cole ’99 has been named executive director of the Yale Alumni Association (YAA), which represents and serves more than 180,000 alumni worldwide from all Yale schools. Cole succeeds Weili Cheng ’77, who retired this year after leading the YAA since 2016. Cole starts in the new role on May 15, 2024.

The Yale community recently participated in a Yale Day of Service program organized by the Yale Veterans Association, in collaboration with the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Service at the West Haven, CT VA Medical Center. This annual program, offered volunteers the opportunity to connect and engage with visually impaired military veterans who were at the West Haven VA undergoing rehabilitative and adaptive training.

The newly-created Air Force ROTC award, the Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse Wingman Spirit Award, is named after Yale alumnus and retired Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse II ’52, a World War II veteran and one of the last surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen. It is also the first Yale ROTC award named after an alumni veteran of color.
