New Law School Dean David Boies Professor of Law, Robert C. Post '77 J.D. has been named Dean and Sol and Lillian Goldman Professor of Law at Yale Law School. He is a specialist in the area of constitutional law, including the First Amendment, equal protection, and legal history, and succeeds Harold Hongju Koh who was recently confirmed as legal adviser for the State Department. New Forestry & Environmental Studies Dean Named Distinguished evolutionary biologist Sir Peter Crane has been appointed Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. Dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Currently the John and Marion Sullivan University Professor in the Department of Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago, Crane is also the former director of England's renowned Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Crane's research is focused on the diversity of plant life; its origin and fossil history, its current status, and its conservation and use. He succeeds James "Gus" Speth who will join the faculty at Vermont Law School. Crane will assume his duties as dean on September 1. Read more about this news item. |
