Online Services

The AYA is eager to facilitate communication among Yale graduates. The internet offers an exciting medium for alumni to stay in touch with their alma mater and each other. Most of our efforts on alumni electronic communications have focused on the areas described below.

Online Alumni Directory
This entire online community is password-restricted to registered users only. Furthermore, you can determine precisely what, if any, of your personal and professional contact information will be available for other alumni to see.

Services include:

  • Search for Yale friends, classmates or colleagues in the alumni directory.
  • Update your personal and professional contact information at any time.
  • Join in a discussion with other alumni on a community message board.

Yale Career Network
The Yale Career Network is a database of alumni who are interested in networking with you. This network will allow you to connect with other alumni to discuss career objectives and explore career interests. You can also serve as a career resource to others by sharing your experience, skills, and expertise.

The Yale Career Network has moved to a new enhanced platform provided by Symplicity, which is co-sponsored by the Association of Yale Alumni and the Office of Career Strategy. This new system has similar capabilities as the previous system as well as exciting new features, including an integration with LinkedIn. Currently, it is available for Existing Users.

Virtual Yale Station - an email forwarding service for alumni
A permanent Yale e-mail alias address is available, free of charge, to every alumni. VYS is now part of our new suite of Online Services.

While not a full e-mail account, VYS can provide you with a permanent e-mail forwarding address. Once you set it up, any mail sent to you at your address will automatically be forwarded to any e-mail address you specify (a work, school, or personal e-mail account). The advantage of a permanent forwarding address is that it does not change whenever you change jobs or otherwise change e-mail service providers.

JSTOR (short for "journal storage"), is a nonprofit service founded in 1995 that offers a trusted digital archive of over 1,000 academic journals. Yale alumni may now access all JSTOR content that has been licensed by the Yale University Library thanks to Yale's participation in JSTOR's Alumni Access Pilot program.

Alumni have free access to the HeinOnline Law Journal Library, which provides full-text PDF access to more than 2,000 law and law-related periodicals, and integrated case law. Access to HeinOnline includes the HeinOnline iPad App.
